Hahnenkamm Rennen

For this project at the Hahnenkamm-Rennen in Kitzbühel, we wanted to look past the loud, spectacular part everyone already knows, the race itself, and focus instead on what usually gets overlooked. Behind the scenes, before the athletes throw themselves down the legendary Streif, there’s this mix of tension, routine, focus, and small personal moments that most people never get to see.

We spent our time capturing those in-between spaces: the quiet corners where athletes gather their thoughts, the last bits of preparation, the calm before the absolute intensity of the run. It’s a side of the event that feels much more human and grounded, and that contrast with the high-speed racing on the slope is exactly what drew us to it.
