Red Bull x Vans Pipe Masters Hawaii

At the Vans Pipe Masters 2023, we teamed up with Red Bull to test something totally new: waterproof mics on surfers. The idea was simple - capture the sounds and reactions from inside the lineup and while riding the waves and bring fans closer to the action than ever before. We worked with athletes like Molly Picklum, Jamie O’Brien, Lucas Chianca and many more, strapping them up and running the audio live in the broadcast. The clips made their way into social, too - giving people a whole new way to experience surfing.

On top of that, we shot a batch of photos for the athletes to use on their own channels, making sure the story carried past the event. A mix of tech, storytelling, and surf culture - all happening in real time at one of the most iconic events in the world.
